Shopping

Shopping for Groceries
Two major supermarkets offer American products, Chedraui (former CCC) on Abosolo at Colima and Supermercados Aramburo with branches at Madero and Hidalgo, 16 de Septiembre and Altamirano and Durango between Ocampo and Degollado. You can buy most specialized goods here. The government subsidized grocery store, ISSTE Tienda at Altamirano and Bravo has the best prices in town for packaged goods and liquor. Natural foods can be purchased at El Quinto (Dominguez at Independencia), at Los Girasoles (Revolucion de 1910 between Hidalgo and Moreles) and at Tonantzin (5 de Mayo and Serdan).

Shopping for Souvenirs
Most shops are on or close to the Malecon – an almost 4.50 miles ocean-front walkway, so get ready to stroll and browse. Away from the Malecon you will find small leather shops and vendors that sell ironwood carvings. Shop around so you know your prices. There are
bargains to be had and street vendors drive a hard but friendly bargain. Casa Maria on Abosolo between Jalisco and Nayarit has good quality pieces including art and furniture.

Dorian’s
Location: 16 de Septiembre and Esquerro
If you’ve forgotten any essential items, Dorian’s has what you’re looking for. This is a traditional department store, and duty-free.

Todos Santos Art Galleries
Location: Todos Santos, halfway between Cabo and La Paz
Todos Santos is home to at least 11 art galleries (the town’s population is 5,000). For art lovers, it offers the perfect opportunity for touring local artists’ work. You may want to stop for lunch at Café Santa Fe or Hotel California to fuel up for viewing all of the various galleries.
